The Stillwater Residence was designed and constructed by Gunnstock Timber Frames to serve as artist housing for the Tippet Rise Art Center in Fishtail, Montana. The two bedroom residence boasts a generous kitchen and gathering space intended to promote collaboration among musicians, artists and members of the Tippet Rise community.
The Timber Frame uses traditional mortise and tenon joinery and is crafted out of Western Larch harveted from Idaho and Western Montana.
We wrapped the frame in Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to both provide a tightly insulated shell and to meet an expedited construction schedule.
