The System

TITE Homes began as a Master’s Thesis in Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.  The TITE Home concept developed out of a belief that quality homes can look good and also be affordable.  Affordabilty is not something you can consider only during the construction phase of the project, but should be measured over the entire life of the home from construction to operation and eventually adaptation.  The system relies on age old techniques of passive heating, cooling and thermal mass combined with the latest technologies in insulation, construction and energy modeling to create homes that will not only cost less to build, but to heat, cool and maintain.

Homes for the Mountain West

TITE homes were developed specifically for the Mountain West region.  Overhangs and shading devices are based on the angle of the sun in this area of the country during the winter and summer months.  Insulation decisions were based on the average and even below average temperatures we can expect to see in our winters.  Even our construction system is tailored to the Mountain West environment.  We use an exposed wooden structural system on the inside similar to a timber frame system made up of small diameter wooden members that are readily available from our local forests.  We then clad the structure in pre-fabricated Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) that can be installed in a very short time, reducing expensive labor and site costs.

Design

The TITE home system is not a list of stock floorplans, but a way of building that can suit nearly any home style.  Working with our design team, we can create a home that meets your needs, considers your site and saves you money.  Call for more information or to get the process started, 307.250.6051.
